Great Central Hospital
Description of the project
In hospital environments, waste and laundry management that works seamlessly and requires minimal work is more important than anywhere else. The customer was challenged with an exceptionally large floor area and a small number of floors, which means large distances between waste generation points and collection points and, correspondingly, long distances between patient rooms and laundry or laundry storage. Added to this, the quantities of waste and laundry, which were known to be several tens of cubes per day, would make the internal logistics of the laundry and waste rather laborious to transport.
Kapasity set out to design the solution together with the architect and the client, as well as a representative of the users, even though the site was already being built. Plans and profitability calculations were completed in less than two months. As a solution, we proposed a combination of several waste and laundry gaps, which resulted in an internal transport drop of between 60% and 90% depending on the hospital wing. Waste shafts drop waste directly onto container presses, which condense the waste from nearly 20 unsealed containers into one waste bin. When the waste container is almost full, the device sends an internal drain request. Similarly, the laundry shafts were equipped with a solution that would automatically fill the spaces with three to nine rollers depending on the size of the spaces. When the last or second last roll starts to be full, the system sends an internal drain request.
