Shopping Centre Lundi
Description of the project
With the new owner of the shopping centre in Lund, a bustling shopping centre in the heart of Porvoo, the need to update waste management practices emerged. The stores operating in Lund produced large quantities of cardboard, combustible mixed waste, bio-waste and plastics, but the collection tools and waste management processes in use were outdated, dating from the previous decade. This made waste management inefficient and affected both the environment and the day-to-day operations of the shopping centre.

practical benefits
New, more efficient collection tools and processes have made it possible to streamline waste sorting and optimise the use of space, resulting in significant cost savings. In addition, improved waste management has reduced the environmental impact of the mall, promoting sustainable development. The companies operating in the shopping centre have experienced the renewal of waste management as a positive change that supports their own responsibility work and improves the working environment. The revamp has also enhanced the mall's reputation as a responsible operator, attracting environmentally conscious consumers.
